湖南大学坐落在中国历史文化名城长沙，是国家教育部直属的全国重点大学、“211工程”、“985工程”重点建设高校。目前正努力向国际上有一定影响的、具有湖湘文化特色的综合性、开放式、研究型高水平大学目标迈进。

湖南大学为延揽海内外优秀人才，自2012年起，新增设的教学科研系列岗位均面向校内外公开招聘，诚邀海内外优秀人才加盟。

2012年具体招聘计划如下：

1.材料科学与工程学院 招聘 海外教授一名。

2.法学院 招聘 海外教授八名。

对以上招聘职位具体要求如下：

1.海外高校教授或同领域公认的知名学者，年龄一般在55周岁以下，特殊人才年龄可适当放宽。

2.海外高校副教授(或助理教授)及以上职务，年龄一般在50周岁以下。

3.具有海外知名高校博士学位，年龄一般在35周岁以下。

需要说明的是，应聘以上职位的海外留学生朋友，需提供各学段学历学位证书以及相关工作、留学经历证明;在国(境)外取得学历学位者，须提供教育部留学服务中心出具的《国(境)外学历学位认证书》等相关证件。

虽说每年海归的数量在不断的剧增，但总体来说，海归在国内还是具有一定的竞争力的，尤其是在语言方面相对于国内的毕业生来说具有很大的优势。
