Job description
Your job is the development of European research projects in the field of extraction of primary resources, recycling and substitution. You will be working in close cooperation with the scientists of the different departments of the Clausthal University of Technology in order to establish high levels of synergy among new research approaches and research projects. You will support the teams in the conceptual design of research projects, the compilation of research groups and the generation of EU support applications for Horizon2020 and ERASMUS+. You will contribute to the measures, ensuring that the scientific developments of the Clausthal University of Technology are competitive on a European level and proactively maintain and expand the relevant networking in a dynamic research environment at the interface between research institutes and industry.
As part of a large scale research group, you will be constantly and closely exchanging information with the scientists from the Clausthal University of Technology, the Recycling Cluster of Critical Metals in Lower Saxony (REWIMET), the national German Resource Research Institute (GERRI) and our European partners of the EIT Raw Materials. At the Clausthal University of Technology, you will be part of the strategic team with the research focus on securing raw material supply and resource efficiency.
Profile of requirements
You are an open-minded team player with a self-confident demeanour in an international and intersectoral context and feature organisational skills, good communication skills, flexibility, reliability, personal initiative and commitment as well as creativity, working together closely with the cooperating scientists. You enjoy networking with international colleagues. You quickly grasp scientific and technical contexts and you are able to communicate them clearly in a comprehensible way.
You accomplished your studies in raw material sciences, material sciences, process engineering or other related fields with a doctoral degree. You have done own research work in a relevant subject area. Practical experience in the industry is welcome.
A core requirement is experience in the filing of applications for support from the EU for scientific projects and the necessary knowledge about the EU research programmes.
Excellent command of written and spoken English is a requirement, just as is your willingness to travel nationally and internationally.
Information on the position
The performance-based compensation depends on personal qualifications and goes up to TV-L E14 in a versatile and international environment. The position is limited to 5 years in duration, but offers considerable development and future possibilities as part of the long-term strategic development of the Clausthal University of Technology and its industrial partners and networks.
