Research Associate (post-doc) on project in Criminal Law (M/F)

15 months fixed-term contract, 40 hours/week starting March 15th, 2016.

Your role
The research associate should work within the research project "Prevention and Settlement of Conflicts of Exercise of Jurisdiction in Criminal Law". The tasks of the research associate are the following:
Conduct desk research on the different topics falling into the scope of the research;
Draft papers on selected issues linked to the research topic;
Conduct interviews with practitioners in the EU and in the US;
Organise working group meetings;
Elaborate a synopsis as well as contribute to the interim and final reports of the project;
Present the results of the research at international conferences and workshops;
Consolidate the results of the research and prepare the contributions for publication;
Contribute in preparing further research proposals within the research unit of law the University of Luxembourg.
Limited lecturing activities in the related field within the existing curricula at Bachelor, Master and Advanced Master level are possible.

Your profile
Ph.D. in Law in the field of criminal law, EU criminal law, fundamental rights, or international law.
Strong background in criminal law, specific interest in European criminal law and procedure;
Fluency in English. Good understanding of French will be considered an advantage;
Specific interest in participating and managing research projects and training programs;
Team oriented;
Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
