Call for Postdoctoral Fellow in Networks Department
Project Description

Centre for Resilient Networks and Applications (CRNA) at Simula focuses on robustness and security of ICT infrastructures. This implies research on networks and applications with the aim of making them resilient with respect to failures and changing environment. The Networks department works on resilience in communication networks and applications through theoretical studies, measurements and through prototyping.

We are looking for a Postdoctoral fellow to join our team for a project called IoTSec - Security in IoT for Smart Grids, funded by the Norwegian Research Council under IKTPLUSS initiative. IoTSec envisions a resilient and secure Internet-of-Things (IoT) enabled smart grid system by developing privacy enhancing technologies in conjunction with the measures of security and dependability. The selected candidate is expected to start working from 1st April 2016. The duration of the contract will be 2 years

Responsibilities

As a Postdoctoral research fellow, you will work closely with Prof. Yan Zhang, Prof. Stein Gjessing and Dr. Sabita Maharjan on designated tasks for the position‘s duration. The tasks mainly focus on smart grid security and privacy. The successful candidate is expected to study various kinds of possible attacks in a smart grid infrastructure, generate and develop IoT security models and apply them into the smart grid system, thus taking security a step further from being just estimated to being measurable.

At Simula, you will have the opportunity to be part of the larger community, and participate in social and networking events. We strive to create an environment at Simula where everyone matters and everyone‘s engagement is the key.

Your Profile

Interested applicants should:

Hold a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer science, information technology or similar/equivalent fields
Have solid background on smart grid, security
Have a strong publication record
Demonstrate an excellent level of spoken and written English.
Possess good interpersonal skills and show willingness to work as part of an international team.
Experience or research work on security models and algorithms is an advantage
