1 Postdoctoral Researcher (100%) and 1 Doctoral Candidate (50%)

Position
The positions will be filled for the duration of 3 years to begin as soon as possible and before October 2016. The successful applicants will conduct research as well as teaching in English or German in one of the research areas of microsociology at the University of Tübingen. For candidates pursuing education-related research, an affiliation with the international and interdisciplinary graduate school ‘Learning, Educational Achievement, and Life Course Development’ (LEAD) is possible and desirable. In addition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the research projects „Early childhood education and care quality in the Socio-Economic Panel (K2iD-SOEP)“ and „ Early childhood education and care quality and child development: an extension study of twins (K2iD-Twins) “ co-directed by Professor Pia Schober. The Department of Sociology offers a friendly, constructive, and internationally orientated research and teaching environment.
Requirements Candidates are expected to have an excellent academic background, including training in advanced quantitative methods, and to have research and teaching interests in at least one of the following fields:
• gender and social inequalities
• family processes
• child development
• family policy
• early childhood education policy
Prior exposure to an international research environment is an advantage.
